Edison Opens Council Chambers To Public Seeking Relief From Poor Air
The chamber will be open Thursday 8 a.m. onwards, to anyone seeking relief, the township said.

EDISON, NJ – The Edison Council chambers will be open to the public seeking relief from poor air quality due to the Canadian wildfires, the Township said.
The chamber, located at 100 Municipal Boulevard, will be open to the public Thursday 8 a.m. onwards.
On Thursday morning, the air quality in Edison hit the "very unhealthy" level on the official U.S. Air Quality Index (AQI).

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection issued a code orange air quality alert Thursday.
“A code orange air quality alert means that air pollution concentrations within the region may become unhealthy for sensitive groups,” the National Weather Service said.

Sensitive groups include children, people suffering from asthma, heart disease or other lung diseases and the elderly.
Residents have been advised to remain indoors and avoid any kind of outdoor strenuous activity.
