Edison Police Sergeant Injured In Crash: Officials
The sergeant has since been released from the hospital, police said.

EDISON, NJ — An on-duty Edison police sergeant and another driver were injured in a late-night crash on Route One, police said.
Sgt. Michael Cimmino was responding to a call at Wick Plaza just after midnight on Monday morning when his marked police cruiser was hit, police said. According to police, another driver ran a red light on Route One near Wooding Ave, causing the crash.
Both Cimmino and the other driver were taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for non-life threatening injuries, police said. The identity of the other driver is not being released pending a investigation.

Cimmino was released from the hospital and is recuperating at home. The other driver's condition was not immediately known, police said.
