Edison Public Library Unveils A New Logo
Officials said the new logo represents a new chapter for the library.

EDISON, NJ - The Edison Public Library has unveiled a new logo just in time for National Library Week (April 6-April 12).
“Libraries have changed dramatically over the past several decades, and we have updated our logo to reflect the ever-changing needs of the community,” said Director Allan M. Kleiman.
“Our new logo represents a new chapter in our commitment to grow, expand, and adapt.”

Designed by Myth, with input from employees, stakeholders, and patrons, the new logo is both symbolic and abstract. It features crossing bars reminiscent of spark - a tribute to Thomas Edison - to represent the three Library branches and the Bookmobile, as well as a book, symbolic to the Library.
Additionally, the logo can also be used in conjunction with AI tools to alter it in a variety of fun and fantastical ways.

With the library’s previous logos bearing the township seal and, most recently a lightbulb, more representative of the town and its namesake, the goal, Kleiman said, was to provide the Edison Public Library with its own distinct identity while emphasizing its limitless potential.
“Much like the library and its ongoing commitment to meet the ever-changing times and needs of the community, the logo is highly adaptable, ever-evolving, and not static,” said Kleiman.
“With this new logo, we ca reimagine the role of the Edison Public Library.”
Along with the new logo, the library is also working to meet the needs of the community. The second phase of renovations at the Main Library is expected to be completed over the summer and construction at the North Edison Branch is ready to get underway.
There are plans to update the Bookmobile and, through a series of Community Conversations, the Library is seeking to garner input from area patrons to discover ways to enhance services and redesign the building to better meet the community’s needs; the next one is scheduled for Wednesday, April 30 at the Clara Barton Branch.
“We are looking to be more community-minded and meet the changing needs of Edison,” said Kleiman. “Our goal is to make the Edison Public Library a go-to destination.”
