Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Krisha and Surabhi from Edison recently organized the first-ever Aerial Drone Competition in the state of New Jersey, which saw teams of students ranging from Grade 5 to Grade 12 participating and competing for Nationals. The event, held at a Piscataway Fire Center, on March 19, in collaboration with Robotics Education & Competition (REC) Foundation, and was a huge success. It attracted a large number of students, parents, teachers, drone enthusiasts and curious onlookers. The competition featured a series of challenges in both autonomous flight rounds as well as teleoperating rounds that tested the skills and creativity of the participating teams. These challenges included obstacle arcs, keyhole gates, blackout zones, speed runs, and autonomous flying.

The event was judged by a panel, which evaluated each team's performance based on a set of predefined criteria and competition rules. The top-performing teams were awarded prizes and certificates and were also given the opportunity to compete at the national level.

The event was designed to promote innovation and creativity among young students, while also providing a platform for showcasing the latest advances in drone competition. They were glad to see New Jersey Senator Andrew Zwicker and Edison Board of Education President Shannon Peng joined their event and learn more about Aerial Drone Competition.

They hoped that the competition would inspire more young people to explore the exciting world of aerial robotics and unmanned vehicles.

Overall, the students' first-ever Aerial Drone Competition in New Jersey was a resounding success, and served as a testament to the ingenuity and technical prowess of young people in the state. With the increasing popularity of drone technology, it is likely that similar events will continue to emerge in the future, providing a platform for innovation and creativity for generations to come.
