Edison Toddler Falls Out Window, Avoids Major Injury: PD

The four-year-old boy sustained only minor injuries in the fall, police said.

EDISON, NJ — An Edison toddler suffered minor injuries when he fell out of a second floor window Tuesday night, police said.

The four-year-old injured his leg and ribs during the fall out of a window in his family's home said. The boy was playing on an iPad with his older brothers, aged 21 and 10, when the two older brothers noticed the toddler was missing and the window was open.

"This toddler apparently landed on a first-floor window awning. It broke his fall, then he rolled off it onto the lawn in his backyard," Edison Police Lt. Robert Dudash said. "Instead of falling onto a concrete walkway or patio, the child fell on grass and thankfully he was not seriously injured."
