Edison Zoning Board OKs Asian Food Market At Former Sam Ash Location
Asian Fresh of Edison, Inc., had purchased the property last year.
EDISON, NJ — Edison's Zoning Board of Adjustments has approved plans for a new Asian retail food market at the former Sam Ash Music store location on Route 27.
The board unanimously granted preliminary and final site plan approval on Oct. 14 for the project at 1837 Route 27.
The applicant submitted a revised plan addressing requirements from the fire official and engineering department. Changes include a fire truck turning template, larger trash enclosures, additional landscaping, a "no left turn" sign on Route 27, and a smaller freestanding sign.

Yan Lin, a shareholder of the company and the property, said that Edison’s diverse population is ideal for their business.

Operational plans call for 10 employees per shift, with daily hours from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Located on approximately 1.29 acres in the township's general business district, the property offers more than 100 existing parking spaces, which the applicant's engineer deemed adequate for the proposed use. Traffic impact studies suggest minimal effects on current roadway conditions.
