Former Edison Firefighter Edward Guarnieri Dies At 78
Edward Guarnieri served the Edison Fire Department for 22 years.
EDISON, NJ – Former Edison firefighter Edward J. Guarnieri, died on Oct. 12 at the age of 78, the Edison Firefighters Association said.
Born on Sept. 3, 1946, in Perth Amboy, Guarnieri was an Edison resident for more than 35 years.
He graduated from Perth Amboy Vocational Technical High School and served in the Air National Guard of New Jersey and the United States Air Force Reserves.

Guarnieri served the Edison Township Fire Department for 22 years.
“A talented self-made man, he built his own home in 1983 for his family. He was an expert carpenter, master craftsman, and general foreman,” according to his obituary.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman, actively involved in many hunting and fishing clubs.
Guarnieri is survived by his wife, Rosanne Guarnieri; his daughter, Gina Alcaide, and her husband, Rodolfo; son, Edward C. Guarnieri, and his wife, Jill, of Metuchen; four grandchildren; and his brother, Louis Guarnieri.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 17 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, Oct. 18, at 9:30 a.m. from Flynn and Son Funeral Home, followed by a 10:15 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at St. Francis Cathedral, Metuchen.
Interment will follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery on Oregon Avenue, off New Brunswick Avenue, Fords.
