GoFundMe Started For Metuchen House Fire Victims
"We are anticipating the house being at a total loss," the homeowners' daughter wrote in a post announcing the fundraiser.
EDISON, NJ - A Metuchen family is seeking donations through GoFundMe after its home went up in flames Sunday.
The fire, which was reported on West Walnut Street at around 3 p.m., began on the second floor and spread to the attic, according to the GoFundMe page.
“We are anticipating the house being at a total loss,” Lori-Ann De Chavitano, the fundraiser’s organizer and daughter of the homeowners, wrote.

“My parents have lived in this house for over 40 years, so there is a lot to replace,” De Chavitano added. “They have some clothes, but we don’t know how long they will have to stay in [a] hotel. Any amount you can contribute would be greatly appreciated.”
The fundraiser has garnered over $4,700 as of Tuesday morning.
