Heat Advisory Issued For Edison Through Thursday

EDISON, NJ — A heat advisory has been issued in Edison and all of Middlesex County through Thursday.

The heat index value is expected to go up to 103 degrees Wednesday and Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures may soar to 100 degrees again on Friday.

The heat advisory is applicable to Somerset, Middlesex, Mercer, Gloucester, Camden, and northwestern Burlington Counties.

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, and out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors, the advisory says.

Residents should ensure that young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles. Time spent outdoors should be limited. When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heatstroke. Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing when possible.
