Heat Advisory Issued In Edison Through Wednesday

EDISON, NJ — A Heat Advisory was issued for Edison due to forecasted hot temperatures.

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued the Heat Advisory through 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

Heat index values up to 110 degrees are expected. The NWS warns that hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.

“Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors,” the NWS said.

  • Wednesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 1p.m. and 4 p.m. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Partly sunny, with a high near 94. Heat index values as high as 107. South wind 5 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
  • Thursday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 90. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
  • Friday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 86. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible. Friday night showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
