Heat Advisory Issued For Edison, Township Opens Cooling Center

The township will open a Cooling Center beginning Wednesday through Friday from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.

EDISON, NJ – A heat advisory has been issued for Edison and most of Middlesex County. The heat advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. Thursday, through 6 a.m. Friday.

Beginning Friday, the township will be under an excessive heat watch.

Heat index values up to 103 degrees are expected, according to forecasters. Heat index values up to 106 degrees are possible on Friday.

The township will be opening up a Cooling Center at the Senior Center, 2963 Woodbridge Ave starting Wednesday through Friday, from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Residents should monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates and drink plenty of fluids. They should stay in an air- conditioned rooms, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
