How Many Inches Of Snow Is Edison- Metuchen Getting, And When?
The National Weather Service has updated its snow prediction for the Edison-Metuchen area.
EDISON, NJ — A winter weather advisory has been issued for Edison-Metuchen along with the rest of New Jersey ahead of a snowstorm that is predicted to dump 2 to 4 inches of snow on the township.
Snow is expected to start falling in the township overnight on Thursday with most snow falling between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. on Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

- Thursday night: Snow, mainly after 2 a.m. Low around 27. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. Total nighttime snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
- Friday: Snow likely, mainly before 9 a.m. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 34. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.
Edison will have workers out overnight salting township roads. Garbage collections scheduled for Friday are postponed until Saturday, Jan. 8. Recycling for District 5 is also postponed until Saturday. Do not put garbage or recycling cans out tonight.
Residents of Edison and Metuchen should remove all cars from the road.

The National Weather Service placed the Edison-Metuchen area under a winter weather advisory for 10 p.m. Thursday to 10 a.m. Friday. Plan on slippery road conditions, which could impact morning commutes, the agency says.
