EDISON, NJ — New Jersey experienced an incredibly wet weekend as Tropical Storm Ophelia made landfall in North Carolina.

Many coastal areas in the state were flooded, and rain is anticipated to continue into Tuesday, according to the latest forecasts.

Townships in Middlesex County saw almost four inches of rain this weekend, according to the latest data by the National Weather Service.

As of Monday morning, Metuchen received the most rainfall in the county at 3.90 inches, followed by East Brunswick at 3.80 inches, according to the NWS. Meanwhile, Edison got 3.49 inches of rain.
