JFK Worker, Ex-Fire Chief Accused Of Sexual Assault: Officials

EDISON, NJ — A former Woodbridge volunteer fire chief and current JFK Hospital employee has been charged with sexually assaulting a young teenager in the early 1990s, Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey said.

Robert Jazikoff, 64, of Whiting in Manchester Township, Ocean County, was arrested on Thursday and charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault and two counts of sexual assault, Carey said. He is accused of sexually assault a minor in Woodbridge who was between 12 and 13 years-old in 1991 and 1992.

Carey said the investigation began after the alleged victim, who is now an adult, alerted authorities. Jazikoff served as a volunteer firefighter in the Port Reading Fire Department District #2 at the time of the incident. He served as the department's chief in 1996.

Jazikoff currently works as a maintenance worker at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He is being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center pending a detention hearing, Carey said.
