Metuchen: Borough Hires Webb Management For Arts District Project
Webb Management will provide art consultancy services for the project, announced Mayor Jonathan M. Busch.
METUCHEN, NJ — Metuchen Mayor Jonathan M. Busch announced Monday that the borough is moving forward with its plans for the proposed Arts District, and has tapped Webb Management to provide consultancy services for the project. The decision was made during Monday’s council meeting.
In a Facebook post, Busch said the decision to hire Webb Management was made keeping in mind their record of working on similar projects, like the Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown and White Eagle Hall in Jersey City.
The borough had purchased the iconic Forum Theatre last year, which will be the centerpiece of the planned arts district, reported My Central Jersey. The theater has been a landmark since opening in 1928.

Busch said Webb “will be performing a feasibility study for our community to help us understand the best use” of Forum Theatre.
For the Metuchen Arts District, the consulting service will gather public input and consult art experts to help guide the project.

“This process will take months,” but will “ensure that the project is as successful for our community as possible,” Busch said in his post.
Metuchen received a $3.5 million grant from Middlesex County last year for the project.
Busch announced that Metuchen residents will be involved in the public input process, and more details will be made available soon.
