Metuchen High School Jazz Sextet To Be Opening Act At May Jersey Jazz LIVE! Concert
Headlining the event is the acclaimed Larry Fuller Trio.

METUCHEN, NJ — The talented Metuchen High School Jazz Sextet will kick off the May 4th Jersey Jazz LIVE! concert as the Rising Stars opening act at the Madison Community Arts Center. The sextet, coming from a program that placed third in the New Jersey Association of Jazz Educators' 2024 statewide competition, features alto saxophonist Caleb Han, tenor saxophonist Daniel Choi, pianist Daniel Afkhami, bassist Kayla Tak, trumpeter Alistair Fawcett, and drummer Tyler Nicholson under the direction of John Messenger.
Headlining the event is the acclaimed Larry Fuller Trio, featuring pianist Larry Fuller, bassist Loren Cohen, and drummer Carmen Intorre, Jr. Fuller brings impressive credentials, having performed and recorded with jazz legends including Ray Brown, John Pizzarelli, Houston Person, and Ernestine Anderson. Cohen has toured with Monty Alexander, while Grammy-nominated Intorre co-produced Joey DeFrancesco's tribute album to Michael Jackson.
The concert begins at 3 p.m. at the Madison Community Arts Center (10 Kings Road, Madison, NJ). Tickets are $15 for New Jersey Jazz Society members, $20 for non-members, and $5 for students with valid ID. Light refreshments will be available for purchase.
