Metuchen Opens Cooling Centers Amid Extreme Heat Warning In NJ
Dangerously high temperatures can increase the risk of heat-related illnesses.
METUCHEN, NJ - An extreme heat advisory has been issued for Metuchen and the area on Friday, according to forecasters.
The National Weather Service announced that temperatures could reach 100 degrees in some areas.
The advisory is active from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday.

Temperatures and humidity levels will be dangerously high, increasing the risk of heat-related illnesses.
- Residents are urged to:
- Stay hydrated and avoid strenuous outdoor activity
- Check on elderly neighbors and vulnerable individuals
- Never leave children or pets in vehicles
- Use air conditioning or visit cooling centers if available
