Metuchen Restaurant In Guinness World Records For Most Tequilas
Meximodo has the largest number of agave spirits commercially available at a bar-restaurant in the world.
METUCHEN, NJ - Meximodo restaurant in Metuchen entered its name in the Guinness World Record for the most tequilas and mezcals in a bar-restaurant in the world.
The restaurant was given the certificate awarding them the Guinness World Record (GWR) on Wednesday which also happened to be National Tequila Day.
According to GWR, Meximodo has "most varieties of agave spirits commercially available in a bar-restaurant in the world."

The number of tequilas and mezcals exceeds 1,000 hand-selected, unique bottles.
"Our official headquarters in London has validated the menu has video evidence of every available agave spirit," the official from the Guinness Book of World Records said during the ceremony on Wednesday.

According to the official tally, Meximodo has 748 tequilas, 246 mezcals, and 39 agaves.
“As we built our tequila and mezcal list for Meximodo and saw the number of bottles increasing exponentially, we realized that we had the potential for a world record, and we made our submission for an Official Attempt. We are thrilled to have Guinness World Records confirm
this achievement," said Saurabh Abrol, owner of Le Malt Hospitality Group, that owns Meximodo.
The team at Meximodo is led by Executive Chef, Antonio Carballo, who grew up in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Beverage Director Carlos Ruiz toured the region of Tequila in Mexico to explore everything from agave fields to the tequila creation process while learning the ins and outs of this staple Mexican spirit.
