Driver Charged In New Brunswick Crash That Killed Monmouth Man

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — A North Brunswick man, 18, is charged in connection with a car crash here that killed a Freehold man, Middlesex County authorities said.

The accident in New Brunswick March 6 claimed the life of Dennis Frick, 65, of Freehold.

Noah Reyes, 18, of North Brunswick, was arrested April 1, charged with second-degree vehicular homicide, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Vincent Sabo of the New Brunswick Police Department.

Reyes was released on pre-trial monitoring and surrendered his passport and driver’s license as a condition of release, the prosecutor's office said.

An initial investigation by authorities determined that Reyes was driving an Infiniti sedan "at a high rate of speed" southbound on Route 1 near the Goodkind Bridge a little after 7 a.m. March 6.

Authorities say Reyes crossed over the median and struck the Ford pickup truck driven by Frick as it was traveling northbound on Route 1. News 12 reported at the time that the Infiniti landed on top of the pick-up.

Frick was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident.

Reyes was not injured.

The investigation is active and continuing, the prosecutor's office said Tuesday.
