New Officer Joins Metuchen Police Force; More Applicants Sought
Nicholas Miller was recently sworn in as the newest member of the Metuchen Police Department, but more applicants are needed.

METUCHEN, NJ — A new member of the borough police force was recently sworn in, and the borough continues to encourage more applicants to the force.
Nicholas Miller is a recent graduate of the Passaic County Police Academy, and is starting his law enforcement career as a Metuchen Police Officer, the borough said at the ceremony in late March.
Meanwhile, the department is seeking more applicants.

Those interested in applying must do so by April 30.

The position of full-time state certified police officer has a starting salary of $55,585 that may be higher for officers with prior full-time experience, with a top salary of $136,622 for 2024, the borough says.

In addition, the department says it considers itself "a modern police department that keeps up with cultural changes in law enforcement. Our officers are allowed to have visible tattoos, except on their face, neck and hands, and facial hair is acceptable."
