Person Shot At Police In Edison: Highland Park Superintendent
Highland Park schools went into lockdowns or shelter-in-places following the shooting in Edison. The suspect has been apprehended.

EDISON, NJ — A suspect shot at Edison police officers Thursday morning before fleeing towards Highland Park, forcing schools to lock down, Highland Park Superintendent Scott Taylor said in an email.
Edison police were called to 280 Route 1 in Edison around 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, Middlesex County Prosecutor Christoper L.C. Kuberiet said. A suspect was arrested, but their identity is not being released at this time.
Taylor provided additional information in a letter sent home to Highland Park parents, writing, "Upon police arrival [on Route One], a suspect discharged a firearm at officers and fled towards Woodbridge Avenue in the direction of Highland Park.

No one was injured this morning, Kuberiet said. Highland Park Police said that the entire incident was "contained" to Edison.
Irving Elementary School, which houses prekindergarten through first-grade and is located on Woodbridge Avenue, went into lockdown, Taylor said, while the other schools went into shelter-in-place.
