According to mentalfloss.com, “having a furry friend can reduce depression, promote better sleep, and encourage more exercise. Now, research has indicated that caring for a canine might actually extend your lifespan.” Events, such as a pet expo, that gather a generous number of animal rescue and adoption organizations in one place facilitate how humans can return the favor.

At Super Pet Expo at the New Jersey Convention Center in Edison, March 1-3, visitors may meet their forever pet at: All for the Paws; Big Dog Rescue Project; Garden State German Shepherd Rescue; Good Karma Dog Rescue; Lost Dog Search and rescue; Louie’s Legacy Animal Rescue; Margaret’s Saving Grace Bully Rescue; Mid Atlantic Greate Dane Rescue League; Only Maine Coons Rescue; Outcast Rescue; Pitties and Pals Rescue and Second Chance for Animals.

Attendees will also experience the joyful chaos of Must Love Dogs and Comedy shows that exemplify the expression "pets are part of our family" because dogs are invited to enjoy the comedy sets with their doting human best friends. Must Love produces dog-friendly comedy events that raise money for animal rescue. Since its founding two years ago it has donated more than $21,000 to animal rescue and wellness organizations in the New York metro area.

Visitors will also learn about best practices for hotel and RV travel with pets; how to read a canine’s body language to alleviate tension; dog agility demos & free classes; a high-fashion dog show; dogs performing Frisbee skills and stunts and a pit with 5,000 balls to play in. There will be races for small dogs and lure coursing where dogs play capture the flag.
