A fire at a Wendy's location was extinguished earlier this week with help from fire personnel from neighboring towns, officials said.
SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - A fire at a Wendy’s location was extinguished earlier this week with help from fire personnel from neighboring towns, officials said.
The blaze was reported Tuesday shortly before 12:30 p.m. at 750 Oak Tree Road, the South Plainfield Volunteer Fire Department said in a statement.
At the scene, South Plainfield fire officials found smoke emerging from the single-story fast casual restaurant, the department said.

Fire officials later requested mutual aid from Plainfield and Edison departments, with units soon after discovering a grease fire behind the grill.
Additional personnel set up on the roof to check for a fire extension in the ductwork system, officials said.

It was not immediately if any hospitalizations or injuries were reported. A request for comment was not immediately returned by the South Plainfield Volunteer Fire Department.
