Police Chase Ends In Drug Arrest In Edison: PD

The multi-town police chase turned up heroin, drug paraphernalia and fake IDs.

EDISON, NJ — A multi-town police chance in Edison ended in the arrest of a Jersey City man after he drove onto a home's front lawn, Edison Police said.

Eswarvijay Seni, 25, was arrested following a mile-and-a-half police chase Thursday afternoon. Police were first alerted to Seni when an automatic license plate reader flagged Seni's plate as being reported stolen last month.

Edison police officers tried to pull Seni over at Talmadge and New Durham Roads, but Seni speed away, police said, initiating the chase into South Plainfield.

During the chase, Seni jumped a curb on Shadyside Place, sideswiping a tree and getting a flat tire, but that still didn't stop the chase. Seni drove back onto the road, and onto Regency Place, where he jumped another curb onto a home's front lawn, police say.

At some point, the airbag deployed and hit Seni in the face. Seni finally surrendered after the car stopped on the home's front lawn, police say.

Police searched the car, and say they found 37 wax folds of heroin, a crack pipe, and two drivers licenses with fake identities for Seni.

Seni was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property, eluding police, reckless driving and possession of a controlled dangerous substance and drug paraphernalia.
