Scammers Spoofing Phone Number To Pose As Edison Police Officers

These scams are designed to trick people into giving away money, police said.

EDISON, NJ - The Edison Police Department is warning residents of scam calls that impersonate police officers.

Over the past few days, scammers have been calling Edison residents claiming to be officers and demanding bail money, police said.

The scammers are spoofing the Edison Police Department number (732-248-7400) in their call, police said.

Other scam calls involve false claims about packages, compromised identities and/or illegal activities.

“These scams are designed to trick you into giving away money or personal information,” police said.
