Storm Knocks Down Trees, Power Lines In Edison

EDISON, NJ — Intense thunderstorms hit New Jersey Wednesday night, leaving damage through the region on Thursday morning.

In Edison, it knocked down power lines and trees.

According to Mayor Sam Joshi several trees and power lines came down in neighborhoods in Edison. Along with heavy rain and wind, debris scattered across the roads in Edison.

Emergency crews, including the public works tree crews, were working through the night to clear up the roads.

The powerful storm, which prompted a severe thunderstorm watch Wednesday night, dropped nearly 1.5 inches of rain and blew 60 mph winds (alongside hail and heavy rain) in some parts of the state.
