Suicide Attempt From Rt. 1 Bridge Into Raritan River, Young Man Saved
A young man jumped over the Goodkind Bridge (Rt. 1) into the Raritan River Monday, but he was saved from drowning by police:

EDISON, NJ — A young man jumped over the Goodkind Bridge (Rt. 1) into the Raritan River Monday, but he was saved from drowning by members of the Edison Police Department along with the New Brunswick Police and fire.
Edison Police officers on scene near the Raritan Boat Club located the young man in the water. Without hesitation, Edison Police officers Justin Mas, Julia Bossert and Micheal Simkovich jumped into the river and swam toward the young man.
The man was brought to the river bank where Officers Alan Sciarrillo and Andrew Hughes brought the man to safety.

The man was transported to a local hospital where he is receiving treatment .
