Tractor-Trailer Crash Causes Lumber Spill On NJ Turnpike In Edison

Motorists have been advised to expect delays and seek alternate routes.

EDISON, NJ – A tractor-trailer crash has resulted in a lumber spill near the toll booth area on the NJ Turnpike in Edison. As a result there is significant delays in traffic, officials said.

The incident occurred on Woodbridge Avenue eastbound at the exit for the NJ Turnpike, where the overturned tractor-trailer spilled its load of lumber across the roadway.

As of 11:38 a.m., all southbound lanes on the Turnpike at the outside entry from Route 440 and County Road 514 to Interchange 10 in Edison remain blocked due to debris cleanup, according to 511 NJ.

Motorists have been advised to expect delays and seek alternate routes if possible. The New Jersey Department of Transportation has not announced the duration of the lane closures as cleanup operations continue.

Currently, there are no reports of injuries.
