Who is Really Running Edison?
Joshi ELEC filings show tens of thousands paid to County & State Political Ops to Shuttle in Hired Canvassers

Canvassers who don’t seem to know the community or how to pronounce the name of its current Mayor are trying to persuade voters.
According to multiple residents, some of these canvassers could not even pronounce the name of the mayor they were endorsing. One reportedly thought Menlo Park was, quite literally, a park — asking, “Do you know if they have restrooms?”

Campaign finance records show tens of thousands of dollars in payments made to the Middlesex County Democratic Organization (MCDO) and the New Jersey State Democratic Committee for “field workers,” “printing,” and “call operations” — political terms that often translate to hired canvassers, phone banks, and glossy mass mailings.
Observers say this reflects a troubling trend: local campaigns are increasingly powered by outside operatives rather than by residents who actually know the community.

Edison deserves leadership that puts people before politics. We don’t have Joshi's million-dollar budget or a payroll of out-of-town canvassers. We have neighbors who know the streets they walk, fold letters by hand, and talk to people directly, because they actually live here.
Edison’s leadership should be chosen by Edison’s residents, not dictated by a political machine with deep pockets. Your vote is your power. Don’t let political operatives tell you how to use it.
One local resident who encountered the canvassers put it more bluntly:
“It’s hard to take voting advice from someone who hasn’t started shaving yet and needs GPS to find the Senior Center,” they said. “It’s incredibly concerning — but mostly just really annoying.”
