81-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed After Being Hit In Edison Retail Parking Lot

The incident took place around 6:30 a.m. at the Inman Grove Shopping Center.

EDISON, NJ – An 81-year-old Edison woman was struck and killed in the parking lot of a shopping center on Thursday morning, Chief Bryan Thomas said.

The incident took place around 6:30 a.m. at the Inman Grove Shopping Center.

Veena Kriplani was walking in the parking lot when she was struck by the driver of the vehicle, another woman.

The woman told police she was driving slowly through the parking lot but couldn’t see Kriplani due to the sun glare in her eyes.

EMS administered life-saving techniques and CPR on the scene , but Kriplani was declared dead a short time later.

The incident is still under investigation and the summonses will be issued to the driver soon, Bryan said.
