As part of its 'Neighbors Helping Neighbors Eat Healthy' campaign, the Community Chest is offering fresh vegetable boxes to patrons.

ENGLEWOOD, NJ — Local residents are invited to eat healthy by signing up to receive a box of freshly harvested vegetables for nine straight weeks, as part of a community-supported agriculture program organized by the Community Chest of Eastern Bergen County, a news release said Tuesday.

In the framework of a healthy eating initiative, the Englewood nonprofit is offering vegetables grown by Alstede Farms, a family-owned farm in Chester, which patrons will pick up from 2 to 5:30 p.m. weekly on Fridays, Sept. 9 through Oct. 28.

Registration is $37 per week, and the 12- to 15-pound boxes of vegetables will be available for pickup at the Alstede Farms' booth at Depot Square in Englewood. A final pickup will be held from 2 to 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 4 at St. Paul's Church in Englewood.
