ENGLEWOOD, NJ — After the passing of its former president last month, The Community Chest's Board of Managers has named a new president, the Englewood nonprofit said in a news release on Thursday.

Eight-year active board member Franci Steinberg, who previously served as vice president, has moved into the presidential role, after former president Barbara Strauss, who served for 14 months, died in June, the release said.

"From her previous experiences, (Steinberg) understands the organization's mission and programs. During her term, we look forward to her bringing boundless energy to the board and our activities," Shelly Wimpfheimer, the nonprofit's executive director, said.
