New CEO Takes the Helm at Englewood Hospital
Englewood Hospital and Medical Center's new chief executive took over a year ahead of schedule, officials announced this week.

Englewood Hospital and Medical Center has announced a new president and chief executive officer in a stepped up succession plan that called for the new chief to take over in January 2014.
The hospital's chief operating officer, Warren Geller, took over the top job effective Jan 1. Former president Douglas A. Duchak will transition to a new role in fundraising, according to a hospital press release.
“Our Board of Trustees is delighted to welcome Warren to his new role and look forward to his leadership at this exciting time in our growth and progress,” Thomas C. Senter, chairman of the Board of Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, said in the release. “At the same time, we want to thank Doug for his 21 years of service, including nine years as President and CEO and for his contributions to health care in our region. We look forward to his continued contributions to EHMC and the communities we serve in his Foundation role.”

A plan to install Geller as the hospital's next chief executive in 2014 was first announced last May.
"It has moved up this plan to be effective one year earlier, on January 1, 2013, allowing Mr. Geller to lead the Medical Center at a pivotal time as it embarks on a major expansion plan," the hospital's news release said. Officials did not detail the reason for the early leadership change.

“I am excited about the opportunity to lead an institution where I have spent the last four years,” Geller said in the release. “I also look forward to playing a key role in expanding EHMC’s prominence in delivering state-of-the-art health care solutions to the surrounding communities and in working with all the dedicated professionals who are committed to providing the highest level of compassionate and excellent care to our patients.”
