2 Scammers Busted When They Show Up At Fair Lawn Woman's Home To Get $35K: Police
Two scammers showed up at a Bergen County woman's home to collect $35,000, police said. Three officers were waiting.
FAIR LAWN, NJ — Two scammers from Queens were arrested when they showed up at a Fair Lawn woman's home to try to collect $35,000, said police.
Fair Lawn police said that on Wednesday, a woman called them to say that someone was able to persuade her to allow them remote access to their computer.
Around 11:30 a.m., officers Tiller Uriarte, Thomas Spear, and Vincent Messina headed to the woman's home.

The woman said that after the scammers got access to her computer, they told her $35,000 had been mistakenly deposited into her bank account.
She was told to withdraw the money and a courier would come get it.

So she called the police.
While the officers were there, Jainshe You, 40, and Zibo Zhang, 50, from Flushing, NY, arrived to get the money, police said. They were arrested.
Zhang was charged with conspiracy to commit theft and You was charged with conspiracy to commit theft and theft by deception, police said.
The duo was brought to the Bergen County Jail, police said.
"The Fair Lawn Police Department reminds everyone that scams of this nature occur regularly, especially to our senior- aged residents," said a department spokesperson. "Before you hand over large amounts of money to people you do not know for uncomfirmed incidents or unknown bills that are owed, please confirm that the incident or bill is legitimate."
