New Superintendent Meeting, Basketball Fundraiser, Golf Outing in Week Ahead

Here's a look at what's going on this week in Fair Lawn and Saddle Brook.

Fair Lawn Jewish Center/ Congregation Bnai Israel will host their 13th annual golf outing Monday at the Town of Wallkill Golf Club in Middletown, N.Y. Registration costs $150 and begins at 10:30 a.m. The cost includes drinks, lunch and dinner. Prizes, including an Infiniti car, will be awarded. Richard Katz, who will become the new superintendnt of Saddle Brook Schools this summer, will meet with parents at 7 p.m. Monday in the Middle/High School Media Center. The Saddle Brook Board of Education will hold a meeting afterward at 8 p.m. in the same location.

The Fair Lawn Planning Board will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Municipal Building.

The Fair Lawn Library will hold a "meet the e-readers" event Tuesday to give residents a chance to try out devices including a Samsung Galaxy Tablet, iPad, Nook, Kindle Touch and Kindle Fire, and learn how to download free e-books. The event runs from 2:30 to 4 p.m.

The Saddle Brook Council will hold a work session meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Town Hall. They will also hold a regular meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday.

The Fair Lawn Board of Education meeting scheduled for Thursday has been canceled.

A car wash benefiting the Fair Lawn High School girls basketball team will be held at the Radburn Exxon Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Washes cost between $5 and $7 per vehicle.
