Bergen County Man Sexually Assaulted Child In 2 Towns: Prosecutor
A Fair Lawn man sexually assaulted a child in two North Jersey towns over two years, prosecutors said Thursday.
FAIR LAWN, NJ — A Fair Lawn man was charged last Thursday for sexually assaulting a child in two North Jersey towns, prosecutors said.
Gerald A. Picardo, 23, was charged with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual contact, criminal sexual contact, and endangering the welfare of a child, said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.
Prosecutors said that on Jan. 17, the Oradell Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual assault of a juvenile that occurred in the past.

An investigation determined that Picardo assaulted and endangered a juvenile "multiple" times between April 2022 and November 2023 at locations in Oradell and Wayne, prosecutors said.
He was arrested in Paramus and charged with six counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, three counts of second-degree sexual assault, two counts of third-degree aggravated criminal sexual contact, four counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, and one count of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact, prosecutors said.

He was taken to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, prosecutors said.
