Fair Lawn PD: Construction Worker Fell From Scaffolding

A 51-year-old construction worker was taken to the hospital Friday after the scaffolding he was on came apart and fell about 10 feet.

FAIR LAWN, NJ - A 51-year-old construction worker was taken to the hospital Friday after the scaffolding he was on came apart and fell about 10 feet onto a concrete footing below him, according to Fair Lawn police.

Around 7:50 a.m., police received a call that a man working at the new senior housing development behind CVS Pharmacy on River Road had fallen off the scaffolding and down into a trench, Sgt. Brian Metzler said.

Along with police, Fair Lawn firefighters responded to the scene to assist with getting the man out of the trench, he said.

The worker was transported by Fair Lawn ambulance to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Paterson for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, Metzler said.
