FAIR LAWN, NJ — Want to get to know your local police, ice skate for free, or just enjoy cocoa and brownies while looking cool in your winter hat?
Free "ice skating with the Fair Lawn police" is taking registrations from people of all ages, but there's a deadline soon and a limited number of spots.
Registrations must be emailed by Jan. 1, and they're on a first come/first serve basis, limited to 199 skaters.

They're asking people to only register their own family members.
The actual event will take place Thursday, Jan. 9 from 7 to 8 p.m. at Van Saun County Park, 216 Forest Ave., Paramus.

The event is free, but renting equipment will cost money.
