Inside Fair Lawn: Matty Croughan Building Dedication

The Fair Lawn Parks Department building was dedicated in honor of former Superintendent Matty Croughan.

Fair Lawn officials dedicated the Parks Department building Saturday in memory of former Superintendent Matty Croughan, and Inside Fair Lawn videographer Wayne Robbins was there to capture the event.

Croughan was a lifelong Fair Lawn resident who worked for the borough for 35 years, including 15 as the department superintendent. He was also a veteran, a member of the American Legion and other civic groups and a volunteer with the ambulance corps.

"Matty Croughan was a Fair Lawn icon," Mayor John Cosgrove said.

Local officials and Croughan's son, Matt, spoke about some of their fond memories of him at the dedication.
