Narcotics Arrests, DWI: Fair Lawn Police Blotter

Police responded to a number of incidents over the past week, including arrests related to narcotics and driving while intoxicated.

FAIR LAWN, NJ - Fair Lawn police responded to a number of incidents over the past week, including arrests related to narcotics and driving while intoxicated.

Oct. 16 - Driving While Intoxicated

At 12:21 a.m., P.O. Anthony Ferreira, P.O. Robert Iozzia, P.O. Michael Franco, P.O. Thomas Spear, P.O. Juan Hinojosa & P.O. Michael Van Ness responded to 17th Street near Morlot Avenue for a motor vehicle crash and arrested a 37-year-old Garfield man, after he struck a parked vehicle on 17th Street, then was unable to perform a roadside sobriety test. After he refused medical treatment from the Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance Corps, he was charged with reckless driving, careless driving & driving while intoxicated, then released to a responsible family member.

At 10:34 p.m., P.O. Geovanny Buitron initiated a motor vehicle stop on Broadway at 29th Street and arrested the operator, a 36-year-old man from Middletown, NY, and the passenger, a 36-year-old woman from Middletown, NY, after heroin was discovered inside the vehicle. Both were released after being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, Possession of hypodermic needles & throwing debris from a motor vehicle.

Oct. 19 - Narcotics

At 8:06 p.m., P.O. Geovanny Buitron initiated a motor vehicle stop on Route 4 at Paramus
Road and arrested the operator, a 32-year-old Kingston, NY man, and both passengers, a 22-year-old woman from Valatie, NY and a 27-year-old man from Kingston, NY, after heroin was discovered inside the vehicle. The driver, who initially gave false information during questioning, was charged with hindering, possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), possession of drug paraphernalia & possession of hypodermic needles. Both passengers were both charged with possession of CDS, possession of drug paraphernalia & possession of hypodermic needles. The driver and the Valatie resident were released after charged. The second passenger had arrest warrants located out of Paterson ($500) & Clifton ($500). He was handed over to Paterson Police.
