FAIR LAWN, NJ – Fair Lawn police responded to a number of incidents over the past week, including narcotics-related arrests.

Oct. 9 – Narcotics

At 9:47 p.m., P.O. Justin DiGuglielmo initiated a motor vehicle stop on Broadway at Lyncrest Avenue and arrested the operator, Matthew Valenca, age 21 of Garfield, after marijuana was discovered inside the vehicle. He was released after being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia & unclear license plates.

At 8:23 p.m., P.O. Geovanny Buitron initiated a motor vehicle stop on Broadway at Banta Place and arrested a passenger, Anthony Mosley Jr, age 29 of Paterson, after marijuana was discovered on the seat where he was sitting. He was released after being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance & failure to wear a seatbelt. A second passenger, Tiffany Nieves, age 27 of Paterson, was arrested after warrants were located out of Garfield ($1000), Totowa ($750), Clifton ($750), Passaic ($500) & Wayne ($500). She was handed over to Garfield Police.
Oct. 11 - Obstruction
At 11:44 p.m. P.O. John Rovetto initiated a motor vehicle stop on Broadway at Yerger Road and arrested the operator, James Leary, age 40 of Hackensack, after he gave a false name to the officer during questioning. Arrest warrants were located out of Paterson ($4250), Hackensack ($1000) & Union Township ($500). He was charged with providing false information to a law enforcement officer, failure to keep right, maintenance of vehicle lamps, operating with a suspended license, operating with a suspended registration & operating unlicensed, then was handed over to Paterson Police.
Oct. 13 – Wanted Person
At 9:56 p.m. P.O. Juan Hinojosa initiated a motor vehicle stop on Route 4 at Paramus Road and arrested the operator, Jimmy Gonzalez-Hernandez, age 25 of Paterson, after an arrest warrant was located out of Fair Lawn for $500. He was charged with failure to obey a traffic signal, then released after bail was posted.
