In November, a Fair Lawn man was convicted on charges he molested his ex-girlfriend's 15-month-old daughter during a barbecue he hosted in June of 2007, allegedly using his finger to molest the child with such force that she suffered significant bleeding that required corrective surgery.

Store Manager Mulls Relocation After Third Burglary This Year
A burglar broke into E-Z Ship & Shop on Maple Avenue on Dec. 8 and made off with thousands of dollars in cigarettes, cigars and lighters, according to the store's manager. It was the the third time this year that a burglar smashed in the store's front door and ransacked its supply of smoking-related products in the middle of the night, prompting the store's manager to consider leaving Fair Lawn.

Man Allegedly Threatened to 'Kill Everybody' At Sleep Center
An Elmwood Park man was arrested on terrorism charges on Dec. 19 after an incident at the Comprehensive Sleep Center on Broadway where he allegedly said he was "going to kill everybody in here," police said.

West Orange Police released surveillance footage of a serial burglar who's been terrorizing small commercial business owners and frustrating local police forces across Northern New Jersey, including Fair Lawn, for the past three years.
One man lost his life and seven others suffered injuries in a two-car crash on Route 80 in Saddle Brook in early December. Alex Fermin, 22, of Passaic, was killed after his Honda drifted out of the left center lane and struck a Hyundai carrying six occupants in the right center lane around Route 80 mile marker 63.7, NorthJersey.com reported.
