Week Ahead: SB Board of Ed Re-Org, Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon Dinner Dance

Below is a list of events scheduled in Fair Lawn and Saddle Brook this week

  • Monday, Jan. 7
  1. This week only the Fair Lawn Recycling Division will collect Christmas trees left curbside on residents' regular recycling day. Trees must be void of ornaments and tinsel and will not be collected if wrapped in plastic bags. 
  2. The Saddle Brook Board of Education will hold its re-organization meeting at 7:30 p.m. at the Middle School/High School, Room 120.
  • Tuesday, Jan. 8
  1. Free health consultations at Fair Lawn Borough Hall from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. 
  2. Fair Lawn council work session at 7:30 p.m in Room 201 of Borough Hall. Click here for agenda.
  • Wednesday, Jan. 9
  1. Daniella's Track Side Grille, a popular Fair Lawn restaurant and bar that was seized by the state in October for non-payment of taxes, will have its liquor license auctioned off at 10 a.m. at the New Jersey Division of Taxation's Fair Lawn office, located at 22-08 Route 208.
  • Thursday, Jan. 10 
  1. The Patch Pick 'Em, our weekly NFL Football picks column, continues Thursday with the second round of the playoffs.
  2. The Fair Lawn Board of Education will hold a work session to discuss field turf and supplemental kindergarten at 7:30 p.m. at Edison School, Room 19.
  • Friday, Jan. 11
  1. Blood pressure screenings at the Fair Lawn Senior Center from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Saturday, Jan. 12
  1. Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon Dinner Dance at 7 p.m. at the Fair Lawn Community Center. Tickets are $50, available through Jan. 8.
  • Sunday, Jan. 13 
  1. An opening reception for the latest exhibit at Fair Lawn public library's Pine Gallery runs from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. The exhibit, which runs until Feb. 28, includes the work of eleven artists who explore a variety of media and styles, including collage, oil, pastel, photography and watercolor.
