Woman Struck And Killed Crossing Route 46: Bergen County Prosecutors

SADDLE BROOK, NJ — A woman was struck and killed while trying to cross Route 46 East in Saddle Brook on Sunday night, prosecutors said Monday.

Vilma Huamani-Centeno, 65, of Bloomfield was pronounced dead after police responded to the intersection shortly after 9 p.m., said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.

The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene, prosecutors said.

"The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Accident Investigation Unit responded and a joint investigation was initiated," they said. "The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation."

Prosecutors did not release further information.
