21-Year-Old Man Charged In 2019 Fairview Killing

A North Bergen man was charged in connection with the June 29, 2019, killing of David Duque-Soto in Fairview.

FAIRVIEW, NJ — A 21-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the 2019 killing of David Duque-Soto in Fairview, and on charges of perjury after, police said, he provided false information at a trial in Bergen County Superior Court for the killing.

Dylan E. Rodriguez, of North Bergen, was charged on July 24 with first-degree felony murder, first-degree accomplice liability to commit armed robbery, second-degree possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, second-degree conspiracy to commit armed robbery, third-degree perjury, third- degree hindering apprehension, and fourth-degree tampering with evidence, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said in a news release.

Rodriguez was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first court appearance.

An investigation, police said, revealed that Rodriguez provided a handgun used in the June 29, 2019, murder of Duque-Soto — information that is contrary to the sworn testimony he gave on March 2 at the trial.
