Child Sexual Assault In Bergen County Leads To Florida Man Arrested: Prosecutor

PALISADES PARK, NJ — A Florida man was arrested and charged in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a child in November 2021 in Palisades Park, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.

Joey Perez, 42, of Miami, was charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault, and one count of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

The child was between the ages of 13 and 16 at the time of the alleged assault, the prosecutor's office said.

Perez had been incarcerated at the Broward County Correctional Facility in Florida and then extradited to New Jersey, the prosecutor's office said.
