BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — The death of a 12-year-old child in Fort Lee is being investigated, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office said Saturday.

First responders headed to a residence on Maple Street after someone made a 911 call around 3:34 p.m. Saturday, prosecutors said.

Responders "located and transported an unresponsive 12-year-old child to an area hospital. The child was pronounced deceased," prosecutors said in a release on Saturday night.

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Fort Lee Police Department are investigating, prosecutors said.
