Here is a look at five things you should know about and/or might not want to miss over the next couple of days:
Number one:
The Fort Lee Mayor and Council meeting for Thursday has been cancelled due to a lack of an agenda, the Fort Lee Borough Clerk announced this week.

The next time the governing body will meet is June 2 at 7 p.m., when they are currently scheduled to hold an executive session.
If that meeting goes off as planned, a copy of the agenda will be available to the public on June 1 at 2:30 p.m.

Number two:
Thursday from 2 to 3:30 p.m., U.S. Rep. Steve Rothman (D-9), who represents Fort Lee in Congress, will hold one of four βlistening sessionsβ scheduled this week at the Fort Lee Recreation Center located at 8th St. and Stillwell Ave.
βI encourage my constituents to attend one or more of the four Listening Sessions I'll be holding this month,β Rothman was quoted as saying in a blog post from his office on Patch. βThey should feel free to attend any of the Sessions at their convenience β they do not have to live in the town to come to the session scheduled there.β

Donβt miss Fridayβs Circle of the Arts Festival at Fort Lee High School. The festival, which takes place from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Friday evening at the high school, is highlighted by student artwork; musical ensembles, dancers and actors; choral exhibitions and industrial arts and home economics projects on display for one night only. The event will showcase the work of over 1,400 students from all six Fort Lee schools with events taking place simultaneously in the high school's auditorium, east gymnasium and cafeteria.
Described as a βtrue celebration of the arts and an opportunity for everyone in Fort Lee to enjoy and experience firsthand the creativity and expression of our incredibly talented young peopleβ by Fort Lee Superintendent of Schools Raymond Bandlow, the festival is free and open to all Fort Lee residents. Oh yes, and βsnacks will be sold as well,β according to the school district.

Number four:Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β
The Fort Lee Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs and Fort Lee V.F.W. Post 2342-sponsored βCliffhanger Spring 2011 Film Festivalβ continues Saturday at 7 p.m. at the .
Itβs the third installment of the screening of HBOβs βThe Pacific,β honoring Sgt. John Basilone and the brave men who fought in the Pacific during World War II. Each installment at the community center features the screening of two episodes of the award-winning series.
And donβt forget June 5, when the state will be honoring Basilone with his induction into the New Jersey Hall of Fame.

Number Five:
More than just used books will be up for grabs this weekend when the holds its annual "Gently Used" Book Sale on Saturday and Sunday. CDs, DVDs and VHS tapes will also for sale, and, according to the library, βa few surprises.β
If you purchase $10 worth of used merchandise, you also get a free, reusable and therefore environmentally friendly βgreen bag.β
The sale takes place in the libraryβs downstairs meeting room and outside the children's room at 320 Main Street on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.
All proceeds from the sale will benefit the public library.
