Teen, Juvenile Suspected Of Setting Fire In Palisades Park: Police
An 18-year-old and a juvenile were arrested and charged with arson in connection with a July 4 incident in Palisades Park, police said.
PALISADES PARK, NJ — An 18-year-old and a juvenile were arrested and charged with arson in connection with a July 4 incident in Palisades Park, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said in a Tuesday news release.
Alexander Regalado, of Palisades Park, and the juvenile, of Ridgefield, were charged after the two "intentionally set" a fire, police said, at 20 Fairview Street that lasted approximately six hours before first responders could place it under control, Musella said.
Regalado was charged on July 13 with second-degree aggravated arson, second-degree attempt to cause widespread injury or damage, second-degree conspiracy to commit aggravated arson, second-degree employing a juvenile in the commission of a crime, third-degree arson, and a disorderly persons offense of criminal trespass. He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first court appearance, the prosecutor's office said.

On this same day, the juvenile was charged for offenses, which, if committed by an adult, would constitute second-degree aggravated arson, second-degree attempt to cause widespread injury or damage, second-degree conspiracy to commit aggravated arson, third-degree arson, and disorderly persons offenses of criminal trespass, and shoplifting. The juvenile was remanded to the Bergen County Juvenile Detention Center, the prosecutor's office said.
