2024 Voter Registration Deadline Near: What To Know In Monmouth County

The 2024 General Election is just over three weeks away. Check your voter registration or get registered to cast your ballot on Nov. 5.

MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — If you’re planning to vote in the upcoming General Election on Nov. 5, it’s a good time to check your voter registration.

Tuesday, Oct. 15 is the deadline for General Election voter registration in New Jersey. To vote in the election, voter registration is required.

For those who aren't sure how to register or have questions about checking their registration, Patch has compiled some key dates and information for Monmouth County voters.

To register to vote in New Jersey, you must be:

  • A United States citizen
  • At least 17 years old, though you may not vote until you have reached the age of 18
  • A resident of the county for 30 days before the election
  • A person not serving a sentence of incarceration as the result of a conviction of any indictable offense under the laws of this or another state or of the United States.

If you’re not registered to vote and want to register, you can register to vote online or download and complete a NJ Voter Registration Form (click here for the Spanish version of the form).

For those in Monmouth County who register via the NJ Voter Registration Form, you can mail or deliver your completed form to Christopher Siciliano, Monmouth County Superintendent of Elections at 300 Halls Mill Road, Freehold.

In-person voter registration is also conducted at the Office of Commissioner of Registration/Superintendent of Elections at the Monmouth County Special Services Complex, located at 300 Halls Mill Road, Freehold.

Registration is available each weekday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., or at the municipal offices in the voter’s community during the week.

On Tuesday, Oct. 15, the Office of Commissioner of Registration/Superintendent of Elections will be open until 9 p.m. for voters.

The municipal clerk's office of Bradley Beach Borough will have evening hours on Tuesday as well from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

  • Early Voting: Saturday, Oct. 26–Sunday, Nov. 3.
  • Deadline to apply for a mail-in ballot by mail: Tuesday, Oct. 29. Mail-in ballot application.
  • Deadline for in-person applications for a mail-in ballot: Monday, Nov. 4 by 3 p.m.
  • Where can I drop off my ballot? Monmouth County Ballot-Drop Box Locations. Ballots must be deposited in the dropbox by 8 p.m. on Nov. 5.
  • Mailing your ballot? Ballots can be mailed to the Board of Elections Office at 300 Halls Mills Road, Freehold.
  • Where can I vote in person? You can find your polling location online and on your sample ballot.
  • Can I track my mail-in ballot? Yes, you can track your mail-in ballot.
